The game should automatically patch to the latest version when you start it. If you don't already have it downloaded, you can get the patch in this thread..

New in this patch are

  • Marketplace:

    buy and sell items
  • Shipyard:

    Now you can actually buy new ships
  • Netbook Mode:

    Added support for lower end machines including those powered by intel integrated graphics. (If the game crashes after login, try enabling this option under graphics options)
  • New Ship

  • More items and weapons

See you in game!

We're getting close enough to this that it is time to actually start a thread specific to this patch. I'll try to aggregate all of the upcoming changes into this first post so that it will be easily visible. I know some of these bullet points are a bit vague, but David or I will fill it in with more information soon

+ ability to buy and sell items
+ ability to equip and unequip items
+ completely overhauled interface for the garage
+ completely overhauled interface for the store
+ overhauled UI for resolution switching
+ ability to change "options" without being in game.
+ tooltips for item icons
+ new item type -- engines
+ new item type -- generators
+ newly balanced ships (ships now have different attributes / "classes")
+ widescreen support

Here is an "in progress" screenshot of what I made operational tonight. (note! all of this is _REAL_ data (except for the station name which is a placeholder) )

As always; question, comments, suggestions are welcomed.

Yet another update of features in the next patch. The screenshot below shows two said features, Tooltips and engine upgrades. (You can safely ignore the lack of rounding in the ship stats panel Cool)

Can't wait to let you guys at this stuff.

The next patch has indeed been delayed for quite a while, but I thought I would post a preview to prove that the project is not quite so dead :)

 

1. Character Selection.

In response to some confusion about the unlabeled functionality: "click on a character to enter game", we have added selection and an "Enter Game" button to the login screen.

 

 

2. Store!

You can finally spend those hard earned credits. We are even working on adding some more weapon variants for you to purchase. (The UI is not final, so please don't judge us Cool)

4. Updated Garage

Check out the new equipment oriented garage. Should be a lot quicker to configure your ship(s).

5. Widescreen Support.

I don't know how many people noticed, but in the previous version, the GUI would stretch rather than gracefully expand to match a widescreen monitor. This has been corrected, you can now have your screen real estate back Laughing
